Up Farming with the new lambs

It's been a pretty good spring so far. Easter was fun. Tayton had so much fun finding his eggs and basket Sunday morning. As for Hailey she slept till 9:30 so brother helped her find her basket with Violet and hair things in it. Rocky had a week off for spring break so we tried to get out. We ventured down to a park in SLC and went to IFA. Yes, that is fun for my two boys. Tayt loves farm stores and Rock could spend hours there. As for me just getting out of the house is a treat!

It is also lambing season, lots of babies this year! This also means Rocky is so busy with the lambs. Its kind of sad though because we don't see him much. The end is in sight though, YaY!

It's starting to get fun to dress up Miss Hailey to go to church. Although she hasn't even got out of the car seat (she sleeps the whole time) so we had to snap some pics after church when she woke up. She is quite the chunk and her colic is slowly getting better. Things are going well here at the Pace home, hope we can get our warm weather soon!!!

Blessing 3/25/12

@ Dinner

not a good one of Hailey's face but had to get a pic of the DRESS!!

Our family after the blessing, Tayt was not cooperating.

Hailey's Blessing day was Beautiful. From the nice weather right down to the food. Her dad gave her a beautiful blessing and she had a lot of family there to see her in her pretty blessing dress. I wasn't going to get a dress and just borrow one, but my grandma insisted I get her one and we found the perfect one. She looked like an angel and I felt so blessed to be her mom. I love my little family so much and I am so thankful for all of our family.

First photo shoot..

Time is going by fast! I already need to play catch up on here. I will start with her first photo shoot, she was 2 weeks and my mom took them. She did pretty well we were lucky enough to catch her with her pretty blue eyes open.

Her first month consisted of guessing games on what she wanted. She was pretty sleepy but would scream in the evenings. We figured something was wrong, but didn't know what. Finally I told Dr. Webster what was wrong and she thought it was colic. Not fun, but I'm not complaining too much. She was the worst from about six on, but when she finally went to sleep around 9 or 10 she slept so good. Around 8 weeks she started sleeping till four, then five, and now we are up to 6 or 7 @ 10 weeks. Pretty good if you ask me:)

We got to know each other during the first months; found out she has to be held all the time, tried lots of different things to help the colic, and seriously watched her get a little more chunky every day. She loved to nurse, but hated the bottle and would not take a Binky! I'm not going to sugar coat it, between constantly feeding, bouncing (colic), her crying a lot (colic), and trying to figure out having two kids really wore on me at first. It tested my patience big time! But I am happy to say things kept getting better day by day.

Hailey Sue

Wow I cant believe I still haven't blogged about the arrival of our new baby girl, well here it goes...........

It started the last week of February I had a doc appointment, I was going expecting it to be my last. Well I get in there and my doc says nothing is happening and that she would be going out of town next week and would start me the following week (which would have been the 13th). Um NO, there was a little misunderstanding and she thought I was only 38 weeks but I was really 39. After some tears from me (freaking out because at this point I was done being prego) and pointing out to her that I was really 39 weeks and she had told me she would start me a week early, she then realized oh lets start you Thursday. Funny how doctors can just be so casual, "Oh ya lets start you Thursday then." Like its nothing to them. This is what I wanted but when your told a certain day and time it kind of freaked me out.

Anyhow, wed night rolled around and we were at a basketball game and the Hospital called. They told me to call them the next morning at 6 am to see what time I should come down. Well everyone had told me that you always get bumped and that I would probably be going in a little later that morning. So we slept until six, instead of being ready at six and I called the Hospital. Of course they said be here at 7:10!!! Shoot we weren't ready and it takes us about an hr to get there so we called Karen (woke her up) to come over to be with Tatyon and we hurried as fast as we could and were off. It was even snowing but we arrived about 7:20 not too shabby.

Around 8 I was in bed ready to get the show on the road. My first nurse (who I loved) checked me and I was already at a 5. SWEET this is going to be fast right?? Wrong... She finally started the PIT around 9 and things were progressing and I was almost ready for some pain meds when all of a sudden it slowed down. I was super bummed and sent Rocky to go eat, my doc finally arrived and said it might be a while because they had to wait so many hours before they could break my water (dang strep b). So the waiting game started. Around 2 she broke my water(ugh I hate that) and that really put things into motion! Around 2:30 I was ready for some meds, well I had a different nurse now (didn't like her) she was slow and old. Ok not that old but I was hurting and she wasn't paying attention!! She finally put some stuff in my IV, things were much better, but that only lasted for 1/2 hr. So I beep her again and it takes forever again to come give me some more, well this time it only lasted for 15 minutes. Around 3:30 and after beeping them twice they understood ok maybe she needs her epidural. It seemed like the lady took forever and she finally showed up, I was in so much pain and she tells me to hold still while I am having painful contractions and bawling- ya I will try my hardest lady! Praying this stuff would kick in, it didn't and I was hurtin for certain. My doc came in and saw I was in a lot of pain and had the epidural lady come back (sorry I cant think of the proper name right now) she checked it and said it was in, and gave me another huge dose. By this time my doctor checked me and she was so surprised that I was pretty much there. Any girls worse nightmare, delivering a baby before the meds kick in! I was so scared and wanted to wait till I was a bit more numb, thank goodness a few more minutes passed by and I was numb. Seriously numb, at this point that was better than the pain so I pushed for a few minutes not feeling a thing and I hear wow she has a lot of HAIR. Next thing I know she is on my chest, she was so beautiful and I was reminded the instant love you feel for your children.

I stayed one night (sent Rock home to be with Tayton) and that was enough for me. We came home the following evening. Tayton came to the hospital while we were there and he fell in love with her as well. He hasn't stopped kissing her since. She has been quite a bit harder then Tayton was because she has a touch of Colic and always needs to be rocked or held. She has already gotten so big and is in 3 month clothes at 6 weeks. As for the hair it is crazy and still not falling out (knock on wood). She is gorgeous has blue eyes and brown hair. When she was born she weighed 7lbs 11oz and she now is over 10 lbs. Her cheeks are big and so kissable:) Its crazy we now have 2 kids and I'm not going to lie it is hard with no sleep, but I am happy to say the older she gets the easier it is becoming. WE love you little Hailey ..More pics to come

Christmas 2011

With dad having a week off for Christmas Tayton was able to feed the sheep quite a bit(he loves it)

spoiled rotten at Grammy Julie & Papa Steve's house.

2 boys jamming out on their guitars

Tayton giving Kylee her dolly....we will have to give her trucks next year that is all she wanted to play with:)

Who is more excited Grandpa or the boys?

Sporting the new football attire

All the Pace kids

We had to let Ky in for a minute so Tayton could give him his gift from Santa

HAHA he's going to kill me:)

New football helmet, daddy thought he had to have this. Don't mind its for a 5-9 yr old!! He definitely has time to grow into it!

Christmas morning 2011

Christmas Eve Party

Trust uncle Vinny, I tell him a hunting gun would be a good idea and he gives him a Nerf assault rifle that is quite large. HAHA Tayton loves it though:) Look at those smiles

We had a fun Christmas this year. Tayton was spoiled by the time he opened from Santa, us, grandparents, and aunts and uncles. He didn't know what to think about all his new toys. He actually asked me, "mom I take all my old toys back to store?" What a funny kid, I had to tell him he gets to play with old and new toys:) One highlight was seeing Drew and Kensi. Tayton had not seen them forever (they live in Tuscon) so it took a little time to warm up, but Christmas Eve Kensi was Tayton's new best friend! I think our Holiday was a little overbooked this year: 23rd Pace Party, 24th Robinson Party, 25th parents came over early to see what Santa brought, ate breakfast at grandma Karen's, went to Church (well some), back to grandma Karen's to open presents, Dinner & presents at my moms, Grand and Grand Pace came to see all the new things. We were all exhausted and I don't think Tayton really had time to enjoy himself until the day after when things could finally sink in and he actually had time to play with the things he wanted too. But what would Christmas be without all our families. I am grateful we live so close to both our families and can spend Holidays with both sides (even though it can be a little overwhelming for a 8 month prego lady and a 2 yr old boy:)

Its hard to believe all the madness is over, we all look forward to Christmas Day so much that it is hard to get back into the swing of things after it is over. I have been trying to get things ready for a new baby here and her room is almost complete just waiting for a few more packages in the mail. Its crazy to think we are getting so close, but it also feels so far away. I'm just excited to hopefully get her here safely and not be pregnant any longer and maybe start loosing weight. I know that is bad to think but I just am not a happy camper when I am pregnant and start looking like a beached whale the last couple of weeks!!! But we can't wait for her to get here especially her big brother who asks me everyday, "MOM has baby sister came out yet?"

SANTA

Aww...

Not so cute..

Getting a little more brave??

Tayton has a thing against Santa:

Yr #1 couldn't take his eyes off of him

Yr#2 Wouldn't even get close to him

Yr #3 a little better, no lap sitting, did tell him what he wanted but would only give him a hug. Maybe next year when he has to show his sister who is big stuff.

Merry Christmas everyone. Cant believe it's here but I'm so glad it is. With a tighter budget this year I have been trying to remember what Christmas is really about and remember why we are celebrating. I am so excited to watch Tayton this year, he is really excited but we are also excited to teach him about the birth of Baby Jesus and his importance.

The things he wants range from a big Blue truck, gates for his farm, and a Elmo guitar. It's so fun having little kids- he's so into Christmas this year and everything he sees at the store he says he wants to ask Santa if he can have it.

We feel blessed this year with Health and happiness and wish everyone the best especially starting the new year.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year:)
